Like everything else, the cost of streaming services keeps going up. Multiple services announced price increases last year, and HBO Max, soon to just be Max, raised its prices already this year. However, you don’t necessarily have to pay for streaming. Here are some sites where you can stream for free.

While free streaming might make you think of illegally posted content, these sites are completely legal. You’ll need to watch a few ads throughout the stream to cover the cost of the content.
First, Pluto TV offers over 250 streaming channels and a wide library of on-demand content. No signup is required. Just visit the site, choose a channel, and start watching.
Second, Tubi contains on-demand content from major studios like Paramount, Lionsgate, and MGM. While you will need a free account, you’ll be able to watch anything on the service once you’re signed in.
Third, Freevee, formerly IMDB TV, offers some original content from Amazon and a library of streaming TV programs and movies. You’ll need an Amazon account to log in, but you don’t have to be a Prime member to watch.
Fourth, Kanopy (spelled with a K) is a service supported by libraries and universities. It offers a vast library of classic films and other content.
And finally, the Roku channel offers a library of free content on demand, along with some live channels. You can also watch from a website, even if you don’t have a Roku device.
