Even if you’re not actively looking for a job, keeping your resume up to date is still a good idea. You never know when an opportunity to apply for a new job or a promotion might come across your path. But if you need to create a resume quickly, here are a few places that can help you do that.
For Personal Tech Media, this is Two Minute Tech. I’m Jim Herman.
If you need a quick resume, Live Career is my top choice. You can choose from a series of templates, answer the questions it asks, and the site will generate a resume for you. If you have an old resume that needs to be updated, you can upload that resume and it will populate your contact information, work history, and education automatically. You can also create an account so you can update your resume whenever there’s changes.
Resume Genius is very similar to Live Career. It has a similar process for generating a resume with questions, it lets you upload your current resume, and you can create an account to make future updates. Resume Genius has hundreds of templates that you can use to craft the perfect document, and it will also help you tailor your resume to your experience and education.
If you want some templates that give you more flexibility than the previous options, check out Canva and Freesumes. Canva is a design tool that has templates for all kinds of purposes. You can create a free account to save your resume on the site.
Freesumes provides downloadable templates that you can edit in Word or Google Docs. However, if you use a template from Freesumes, I recommend saving it on cloud storage so you’ll always have it available in the future.
