Memorial Day weekend marks the unofficial start of the summer travel season. Even when you can execute your travel plans flawlessly, traveling can still be stressful. However, your trip often doesn’t go according to plan. Here are some tech apps that can help you reduce the stress of your summer travel.
For Personal Tech Media, this is Two Minute Tech. I’m Jim Herman.
First, take pictures of your important travel documents. Make sure you have pictures of your flight information, hotel information, driver’s license, passport, and any other documents you’ll need for travel.
Second, get some tracking devices to put in your luggage. Someone I know recently misplaced his camera while traveling. Fortunately, he could see it was still in one of the hotel vehicles thanks to the air tag in the case. Whether you use Apple AirTags, Samsung SmartThings, Tile, or another device, sticking one in your luggage can help you quickly locate it if it’s lost.
Third, complete early check-in using your mobile apps. Most airlines and hotels will allow you to begin the check-in process through their app. Early check-in allows you to confirm your reservation long before you arrive. You can speed up the arrival process or skip the check-in desk entirely if you check in through the app.
And fourth, make sure you have extra power for your phone. All these tips rely on using your phone, but they’re only helpful if your battery has plenty of juice. Pick up a small battery pack you can keep in your carry-on to ensure your phone has the charge to make it through your day.
