Yesterday was another fall product launch as Google took a turn introducing its latest products. The company showed off its new Pixel phones, Pixel watches, earbuds, Android 14, and Bard AI. Here’s the summary of what Google announced yesterday.
For Personal Tech Media, this is Two Minute Tech. I’m Jim Herman.
The stars of the show were the company’s latest smartphones: the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. These phones come with upgraded specs and integrated AI. Recognizing that many people keep their phones longer, the new phones will receive seven years of operating system updates. It also claims the new phones have a 24-hour battery life, which can be extended to up to 72 hours with the extreme battery saver mode.
Google’s Pixel Watch 2 comes with improvements to several functions. Google claims it has the most advanced heart rate tracking to date, and it uses AI to translate that into many other functions. Safety Check will contact people you specify if you don’t check in within a designated time.
The Pixel Buds Pro will come in two new colors. The earbuds come with a low latency mode to reduce audio lag on games. Support for Bluetooth Super Wideband should make your voice sound clearer and fuller when speaking.
Google also announced it is working to integrate Bard AI into the Google Assistant to unify data from different apps.
And finally, Google made Android 14 available to everyone yesterday. Google says the new operating system will come with the best customization and accessibility features that have ever been offered.
