Keeping track of your favorite TV shows used to be much easier. However, with broadcast, cable, and streaming networks all launching new shows and new seasons throughout the year, it’s become more challenging to keep track of your favorites. Fortunately, there are apps that can help you keep up with your favorite programs.
For Personal Tech Media, this is Two Minute Tech. I’m Jim Herman.
The app TV Time is probably the most popular. This app helps you track your favorite shows and movies and check them off once you’ve watched. The calendar shows you when new episodes or movies are coming out, and it’s simple to add shows to your list and then check them off once you’ve seen them.
Episode Calendar is notable for its ease of use. There’s no app, but the site works as well in mobile browsers as it does on your computer. While it’s not as feature rich as TV Time, it’s good enough to get the job done. I think it’s the easiest option to set up and use.
If you’re looking for something that manages shows automatically, Trakt can keep track of everything that you’ve watched. It works with a variety of streaming services and other media players. It will even track where you stopped watching, so you can pick it up while you’re away from home. Trakt is available for iOS and an Android app is in beta.
And finally, Series Guide has a simple user interface that shows you recent and upcoming shows and your viewing history all on one screen. Plus, if you want to take advantage of Trakt’s automation, you can sync your Trakt account with Series Guide to record your viewing automatically. Series Guide is only available for Android devices.
