There’s nothing quite like a home cooked meal until you realize you’re on your own and it’s all on you to cook it and clean up afterwards. Sometimes you just want to eat out, whether it’s by yourself or with some friends. And when you’re looking for a place to go out for dinner, there are plenty of apps that can help you make the right choice.

First, Open Table can help you find new places to eat. Then once you’ve selected a restaurant, you can make a reservation right in the app.
Second, Local Eats focuses on providing you with a list of the best restaurants as rated by food critics. It also focuses on local restaurants instead of chains, so you can find something unique while you’re away from home.
Third, if you have dietary restrictions, try out the app Tasteful. This app will help you find restaurants offering vegetarian, vegan, paleo, gluten-free, and low-carb options.
Fourth, Dining Grades scores restaurants on what might be the most important factor, cleanliness. While everyone wants great tasting food when they eat out, it’s also important that restaurants are preparing it in a clean environment.
Fifth, if you’re eating with friends, you can let the app Tab split the check. Take a picture of the receipt and tap on the items you ate to get your part of the bill. It can even split the cost of items among the table if you ordered an appetizer or dessert to share.
And finally, when tipping your server, Tip Calculator can do the math for you. Enter the total bill, select the tip percentage, and note if you’re splitting the check or if one person is covering the entire cost.
