The ride-sharing giant Uber held a product showcase last week, announcing various updates across its product offerings. From collaboration options to a call-to-ride number, here is what will be coming to your Uber app in the coming months.

As I mentioned in the introduction, many of Uber’s new features center around collaboration. When sharing a ride with others, Uber will allow those sharing the ride to enter their own pickup and drop-off locations. It will also allow the cost of the ride to be split based on the length of each person’s part of the trip.

Uber is also taking steps to protect teenagers that may need to ride alone. Parents will be able to set up teen accounts with some safety features. These trips will only be offered to experienced and highly-rated drivers, and parents will be able to track the trip’s progress as it occurs.

Uber will also begin offering a toll-free number that users can call to set up a ride. Riders can set up both immediate and future rides over the phone, and the service will be available in both English and Spanish.

For Uber Eats, the new Group Grocery Shopping allows you to set up a shared grocery cart and invite others to add to it. Teen accounts will also be able to utilize Uber Eats to order and pay for food using the parent’s account.

And finally, the company will begin offering rides with car seats for families. This option will start in New York City and Los Angeles, but the company says it will expand to more cities soon.
